Richard Rust, whose father was a property developer, grew up immersed in the construction and new homes sector, beginning his career in estate agency in 2003. His background provides the firm with expertise in planning and development, including the ability to produce professional HDR photography and 360-degree tours for properties. David Radcliffe began his career in estate agency at Connells, gaining experience in both second-hand and new home sales.

In 2008, he expanded his expertise into mortgage advice, offering a well-rounded perspective on the property journey. Both founders met at Bottisham Village College and continued their education together, eventually launching Radcliffe & Rust after gaining experience in corporate estate agencies. The company operates with a strong understanding of Cambridge City and its surrounding towns and villages. The firm's office is located at Beacon Rise, 150 Newmarket Road, Cambridge. They maintain regular business hours from Monday to Friday, with Saturday openings, and are closed on Sundays.
